SAINT PAUL, Minn.—The third annual Land Stewardship Project (LSP) Family Farm Breakfast at the Capitol will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church in Saint Paul (105 University Avenue West—across from the Minnesota State Capitol). This event is open to the public and the cost is $10. To reserve a spot and for more information, contact the Land Stewardship Project’s Karen Richards at 612-722-6377 or karenr@landstewardshipproject.org.
This event is a great opportunity for farmers, consumers and legislators to come together over delicious locally-produced food while discussing policies that promote sustainable rural communities and vibrant family farms. On the half hour, there will be short presentations on LSP’s work and messages from legislative leaders, including a message from Speaker of the House Rep. Margaret Anderson Kelliher at 8 a.m.
Citizens are encouraged to invite their legislators to meet them at the breakfast. Following the breakfast, there will be a Capitol lobbyist training from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information on how to invite lawmakers to the event, contact LSP’s Bobby King at 612-722-6377.
As in the past, the breakfast will feature food grown on the farms of Land Stewardship Project members. The meal will be prepared by chef Brad Beal, along with Barb Nelson and other LSP volunteers.
