ROCHESTER, Minn. — Want to learn how to better manage your time while juggling all the daily, weekly and seasonal tasks that need completed on your farm? The Land Stewardship Project (LSP) is sponsoring a special “Time Management for Farmers” short course Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Rochester Community and Technical College’s Heinz Center, 851 30th Ave. SE, in Rochester. The fee is $20 for LSP members and $65 for non-LSP members (people who become LSP members at registration will save $10 on the fee). To reserve a lunch, please pre-register by March 6. To register or for more information, contact LSP’s Parker Forsell at 507-523-3366 or parker@landstewardshipproject.org.
The course will be led by Chris Blanchard, who owns and operates Rock Spring Farm (www.rsfarm.com), a 12-acre organic produce operation near Decorah, Iowa. Rock Spring sells a wide variety of vegetables and herbs via a 200-member Community Supported Agriculture enterprise, as well as through food stores and a farmers’ market.
Blanchard is a well-known and popular farm management instructor, and regularly presents during LSP’s Farm Beginnings (www.farmbeginnings.org) course, as well as at numerous conferences throughout the Midwest.
Participants in the March 14 workshop will be provided with the tools to begin to develop time management systems relevant to their own farm situation. The short course will offer practical examples and applications relevant to life on the modern farm.
