Dan McGrath

Dan McGrath has been a community and labor organizer for more than 20 years. For 12 years, Dan served as the founding executive director of TakeAction Minnesota. He also served as executive director of Progressive Minnesota and organized school bus drivers with SEIU International. Dan’s international experience includes work at the Glencree Centre for Reconciliation in the Republic of Ireland, the Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA), and election observation in El Salvador. Currently, Dan works as a senior strategist with the Grassroots Power Project, where he supports social justice organizations throughout the Upper Midwest. He lives in Saint Paul, Minn., with his wife, Teresa, and their three children, Harriet, Winston, and Joseph, where they camp and cross-country ski as much as possible.
Dan has been a member of the Land Stewardship Project for more than 15 years. He believes we need strong member-led organizations that fight to change systems and structures to better serve all people, including people in rural places.
