Sara Morrison

Sara began her relationship with LSP as an attendee of the Farm Beginnings program which launched her farm business in 2012, growing vegetables for CSA and wholesale.  Sara credits the education, network and confidence she gained through Farm Beginnings, and later the Journeyperson Farmer program, in assisting her purchase of a farm in 2013 which enabled her to add grass-fed beef to her vegetable enterprise.

Sara graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with an MBA with an agriculture emphasis and began working at River Market Community Co-op, in Stillwater, MN, as the General Manager in 2020. She believes that smaller, independent markets facilitate depth in our foodshed and provide access for more farmers to participate in the food economy.

Sara joined LSP’s Board of Directors in 2022 where she currently serves as the board treasurer and the chair of the finance committee. She states it is an honor to work with a member-led organization and an inspiration to collaborate with people who work towards healthy communities and a more sustainable farming future.
