SWROC Organic Field Day

The Southwest Research and Outreach Center (SWROC) will host its annual Organic Field Day on Wednesday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The event will start with a tradeshow and field tour of organic research projects at the SWROC including cover crops, alternative crops, small grain production and tunnel vegetable production. After lunch, keynote presentations and speakers include:

· Tools for successful farming — Amy Bacigalupo and Robin Moore, Land Stewardship Project

· Soil Health and Livestock Production; Cropland Grazing Exchange — Kent Solberg, Sustainable Farming Association

· Grazing dairy steers on two different cover cropping systems — Brad Heins, U of M West Central Research & Outreach Center

Please pre-register online by Wednesday, July 5, to help us better accommodate for the noon lunch. The registration fee is $30 and includes refreshments, lunch and handouts. Registration fees can be paid the day of the event or mailed in advance to: SWROC, 23669 130th St., Lamberton, MN 56152.
