The eighth annual Land Stewardship Project (LSP) Family Farm Breakfast and Day at the Capitol is open to the public. The cost is $10 and payable at the door. RSVP for the breakfast HERE or contact LSP's Jeanette Torkelson at 612-722-6377 or JTorkelson@landstewardshipproject.org.

To volunteer to help with food preparation, registration or cleaning up, contact LSP’s Jeanette Torkelson at 612-722-6377 or JTorkelson@landstewardshipproject.org. If you would like to run an advertisement in the official Breakfast Program, contact Torkelson.

As in the past, “The Best Breakfast in Town” will feature food grown on the farms of LSP members. Over the years, this event has evolved into an excellent opportunity for citizens and legislators to come together over delicious locally produced food to discuss LSP's legislative priorities.

These priorities include: making meaningful investments in sustainable and organic agriculture programs; keeping township and county local control strong; a regional moratorium on frac sand mining and processing in southeast Minnesota; and implementing a people-centered health insurance exchange and a strong Basic Health Plan.

There will be lobby training at the church from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Citizens will then head over to the Capitol to meet with legislators. Be sure and let LSP know whether you plan on joining us for lobbying when you RSVP for the breakfast.

Citizens are encouraged to invite their legislators to meet them at the breakfast. Contact information for lawmakers is online here. Contact information for state Senators is available by calling 651-296-0504 or 888-234-1112. For Representatives, call 651-296-2146 or 800-657-3550. People who plan on lobbying at the Capitol after the breakfast can make appointments for later in the day with legislators.
