The Land Stewardship Project will be holding a Women Caring for the Land workshop on Farm Transition Planning Thursday, May 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris, Minn. Contact LSP's Rebecca White for more information: rwhite@landstewardshipproject or 320-305-9685.
In recent years, the Land Stewardship Project has developed “Women Caring for the Land” learning circles and support networks in the Chippewa (western Minnesota) and Root River (southeastern Minnesota) watersheds. They are modeled after a program developed by the Women, Food and Agriculture Network of Iowa and are focused on bringing together women who own land and rent it out for agricultural production, and who are interested in learning more about conservation—grassed waterways, field windbreaks, strip tillage, grazing, cover crops, etc.
