Will I be on the farm in 5 years? What is the difference between a land trust and an S Corporation? What’s my style of communicating about this sensitive topic?”
The many issues behind a seamless transition of land from one generation to another merit attention sooner rather than later, and sometimes it takes a supportive group to take that first step. Join Land Stewardship Project and Renewing the Countryside on Thursday, May 14, for an informal, woman-to-woman gathering focused on shifting land from one party to another in a peaceful and mutually satisfying fashion.
We will be using LSP’s new transitions curriculum, along with guest lawyer Greg Schieber, to set you on your own transitioning pathway. Whether you are years from needing a plan or needed one yesterday, you will be welcome to start now, in good company.
Registration and coffee will begin at 9 a.m. upstairs of Pedal Pushers Café in Lanesboro. The program will start at 9:30 a.m. and run until 1:30 p.m. with a light lunch included. Please RSVP Caroline van Schaik at the Lewiston LSP office, 507-523-3366 ext. 102, or firstname.lastname@example.org. A freewill donation will help cover materials and the meal.
