Assessing Risks, Affordability and Land Access Options.
If you are an aspiring or beginning farmer looking to rent, buy or otherwise access farmland. Or if you are a beginning farmer looking to work with an established farmer this workshop is for you.
This workshop will focus on visioning, your experiences, finances and environmental considerations to help you consider what is possible as you seek land to farm. Each family will have a tool to help gain clarity.
There will also be ideas, advice and support from other farmers and professionals. Dean Harrington, a retired banker and guest speaker, will be on-hand to discuss building a proposal and relationship with the bank. Devon Ballinger, a beginning farmer will talk about her experiences looking for land. A light lunch will be served. The cost is $10 per person; $5 for additional family members
