Elizabeth Makarewicz

Elizabeth Makarewicz has been a member of LSP since participating in Farm Beginnings in 2013 and on staff as a membership support specialist since February 2018. In this role, Elizabeth helps to grow and maintain LSP’s membership, communicates with LSP members, organizes fundraising and community outreach events, and leads the gift acknowledgment process for the organization. From growing food on a number of organic farms across the Upper Midwest to providing farm-to-school support to rural school districts in northeastern Iowa, her work is motivated by a love of cooking for others. Elizabeth completed a master’s degree in Sustainable Food Systems in 2019 with an emphasis on racial justice. Aside from her work with LSP, she grows food as part of the Starling Farm Collective and enjoys knitting and many outdoor activities with her child and spouse.
