Featherstone has been a certified organic (MOSA) CSA farm for 23 years. We’re located in southeastern Minnesota, between Winona and Lanesboro, and we grow our crops on 130 acres of rich farmland.

We deliver some of the only customized CSA shares in Minnesota — made just for you — to over 25 drop-sites throughout the Twin Cities, as well as in Rochester, La Crosse and Winona. Some of our sites include Valley Natural Foods, Lakewinds Co-ops, Seward Co-ops, Whole Foods Markets, Dunn Brothers Coffee, Eastside Co-op, Mississippi Market Co-ops and Oxendale’s Market. A full listing of our pick-up sites can be found at www.featherstonefarm.com.

When you join our farm, you get a chance to rank everything we grow on a scale from 1 (don’t like it at all) to 5 (love it). Each week, we’ll make up the perfect box for you, never sending you any veggies you dislike and always optimizing the types of veggies you love. You’ll also get a chance to review and make swaps to your box before we pack it out, ensuring that you’ll get exactly what you’d like each week.

We offer both a customized Summer (18 weeks) and Winter (9 weeks) program, with delivery mid-June through March; our Summer Share offers a full and half-share option and we also offer vacation holds and makeup boxes for your busy schedule.

Our shareholders stay connected to our farm and get cooking tips via our weekly newsletters and our social media posts. We also hold an annual CSA Strawberry Social on June 22. Please visit http://featherstonefarm.com for more details.

Fox and Fawn Farm is a chemical-free fruit and vegetable farm located in western Carver County near Watertown, about 35 miles west of the Twin Cities. We are a small family farm, run by head farmer Tim “Red” Kirkman and strawberry-picking expert Nina Healy Kirkman.

Our two boys (ages 4 and 7) help with raspberry sampling, our farm dog Henry helps keep animal pests up in the trees, and a small team of friends and family help to keep the weeds under control.

We grow 160 varieties of 50 annual crops, in addition to rhubarb, strawberries and gooseberries, for our CSA members. We also have young plantings of apples, aronia berries, honeyberries, and currants that will be available as soon as they reach bearing age.

Our CSA offers the bounty of the season for 19 weeks, garden-fresh recipes, stories of our triumphs and travails, and a connection to the food on your plate with open houses in July and August and a harvest celebration in September.

Why join Fresh Earth Farms?

Truly Local: We are located in the Twin Cities just 20 minutes from downtown St. Paul. Your money stays local to support the Twin Cities economy. Our property taxes support Minnesota, Washington County and the local school district. Very few food miles.

Real CSA Farm: Community Supported Agriculture is a business model, not a box of produce. Every member shares in the success of the farm. All the produce we grow goes to our members (or local food shelves). No competition from alternative sales channels (e.g. farmers’ markets, wholesale).

Small, Family Farm: We don’t skimp on customer service. Have a question? Talk directly to the farmer! We provide personalized service to all our members. You won’t compete with grocery stores for our attention—or our produce.

Support Community: We donate excess produce to Twin Cities food shelves. We hire only local Twin City residents and students. We donate shares to local nonprofit organizations and schools.

Support Other Small Family Farms: We resell organic fruit, meat and cheese from similar small family farms.

Sustainably Grown: Through the use of cover crops, rotations and organic inputs, we provide nutritious, delicious fruits, vegetables and herbs while improving the soil for future generations.

Money Back Guarantee: We are so confident you will enjoy our deliciously fresh vegetables that we offer a full money back guarantee. See our website for details.

Gale Woods Farm is owned and managed by Three Rivers Park District. It is a 410-acre park with the mission of demonstrating small-scale, productive, contemporary, sustainable agriculture and offering farming-related educational opportunities to school groups and the general public. The park includes gardens and orchards, an educational barn, pasture-raised beef cattle, pigs, sheep and chickens, several miles of hiking trails, canoeing and fishing.

The CSA operation involves teenage youth from surrounding communities in growing produce for the shares. In addition to learning about sustainable agriculture, they are given leadership-training opportunities and inspiration to create positive change in their lives. Produce is also provided to the Mound Westonka food shelf and STEP in St. Louis Park.

The season runs for 18 weeks from mid-June to mid-October. Two share types are available. Traditional CSA shares feed 3-4 and are picked up market-style at the farm on Tuesday afternoons. Pre-paid Flex shares are available at the on-farm market stand on Saturday mornings with the flexibility to buy the amounts you need when you need them. This market is also open for the general public to purchase produce.

Eggs, meat, maple syrup, honey and other products raised at Gale Woods are available for purchase in the farm store. For sign-up information and pricing, please contact us.

The mission of the Hmong American Farmers Association (HAFA) is to advance the prosperity of Hmong farmers through cooperative endeavors, capacity building and advocacy. HAFA was started and is led by family farmers, and uses community organizing to do its work.

HAFA's work is grounded in strong communitarian values and based around a comprehensive model that acknowledges that all aspects of the agricultural and food system must be focused on at the same time to truly build intergenerational and community wealth. While some organizations offer trainings and others land access, HAFA helps Hmong farmers access all aspects of the agricultural and food system at once. Like a wheel with many spokes, all the spokes must be aligned and strong for the wheel to turn.

The HAFA Farm is a 155-acre research and incubator farm where Hmong farming families can long-term lease sizable parcels for mixed vegetable and flower production. The HAFA Farm is located just 25 minutes outside of St. Paul.

Certified organic Fruit and Apple Shares!

Located southeast of Menomonie, Wis., our orchard was established in 2009 with an emphasis on regenerative land use and biodiversity, and has been certified organic since 2016. We are drawn to perennial agriculture as a means to sustain the land so that it may sustain our family and community. We are also fruit nerds, and get very excited about the amazing diversity of flavors, textures and experiences that come from uncommon fruits and varieties.

This is our third season offering a fruit CSA. Our fruit share is a great option for an adventurous palate, and we provide tips, recipes and fruit trivia throughout the season. We deliver to the Twin Cities on Saturdays (in Southwest Minneapolis and the Selby/Dale area of Saint Paul), and in Menomonie on Tuesdays.

Open Farms is an urban farm and CSA run by the nonprofit organization Open Arms of Minnesota. At Open Arms, we nourish body, mind and soul by preparing and delivering free, nutritious meals to people living in the Twin Cities Metro Area and who have life-threatening and chronic illnesses like cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, and ALS. By purchasing a share, you'll not only enjoy healthy eating each week in your own home, but you'll help provide funding for meals for people living with life threatening illnesses.

Open Farms consists of multiple urban sites in Saint Paul and Minneapolis. By turning vacant lots into vibrant gardens, we are transforming underutilized urban spaces into food and providing a platform for discussions around food justice. At the farm, we use organic methods and permaculture principles to work with nature, rather than against it. We use a variety of different growing techniques to maximize efficiency. We use companion planting, crop rotations, cover-cropping and green manure as ways to increase productivity, build healthy soil and reduce pest problems. Consider eating healthy with us this year and purchase a share from Open Farms.

CSA Membership details for 2019 include: 16 weeks of produce, beginning mid-June, with a choice of two sizes — full-share or half-share (bi-weekly), weekly recipes, and the option to purchase add-ons. Sign up today at: www.openarmsmarket.org/csa-shares.html.

Pick-up/drop-off: Pick up day is Thursday. Customers can choose from multiple pick-up locations in Minneapolis (Northeast and South) and in St. Paul.
