Jan. 12, 12:30 p.m.- 2 p.m.: Introductory program on conservation leases and practices on rented farmland. This "Renting It Out Right" program is for non-operating landowners and/or farmers who rent land and would like resources for working with their landowners.

Jan. 19, 1 p.m.-3 p.m.: Farm Transitions Introductory Workshop. Join this Land Stewardship Project introductory workshop to gain an understanding the components of Farm Transition Planning.

Jan. 19, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.: LSP Compost Check-in Call Featuring Kassie Brown of Potter Ridge Farm.Her presentation will include methods used to look for organisms in compost, microscope slides of farmers' compost samples, and methods for applying that biology to large and small-scale farms.

Jan. 20, 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.: Cover crops with Cala Farm. Rodrigo Cala has been innovating with cover crops for years. In addition to common winter cover crops, he has experimented with a wide variety of summer cover crops between plantings, and is trialing new systems to integrate grazing as a means of terminating.

Jan. 29-30: Emerging Farmers Conference. The theme of this 16th annual event, which will be virtual this year, is "Reclaiming Our Voices: For Farmers, by Farmers, with Farmers."

Feb. 9, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.: Farm Transition Workshop. This is part of an LSP Farm Transition Planning series on goal setting, financial planning, legal aspects, long-term care considerations, introduction to soil health, and planning for conservation.

Feb. 16, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.: Farm Transition Workshop. This is part of an LSP Farm Transition Planning series on goal setting, financial planning, legal aspects, long-term care considerations, introduction to soil health, and planning for conservation.

Feb. 16, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.: LSP Soil Health Workshop on Plantng Green & Grazing Cover Crops. This virtual workshop will feature Jay Fuhrer and Kristin Brennan of the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service. Fuhrer and Brennan will present on the principles and methods of assessing soil health. There will also be a panel of local farmers.
