Winona County Organizing

LSP's involvement in Winona County spans back to the start of the organization in 1982, and first opened an office in the county in 1985. Today, our work in Winona County is focused in three areas: 1) working with other people in southeastern Minnesota to oppose the corporate-backed frac sand mining development now being pushed; 2) working for economic and racial justice by advocating for better adherence to the lawful rights of workers in major livestock and processing facilities; 3) and engaging on farm and environmental issues on the county level in order to enhance land stewardship and community prosperity and vitality.
