For 11 years, the Sustainable Farming Association has hosted the Midwest Soil Health Summit, an educational event developed during a time when soil health was still a budding concept. As the importance of soil health has become more widely recognized and soil health education more readily available, the SFA is shifting the educational focus of the Summit and rebranding the event as the Midwest Grazing & Soil Health Summit.

The 2025 event will feature Jim Gerrish, a renowned grazing lands educator, consultant, and writer who works with farmers and ranchers across the U.S. and internationally through American GrazingLands Services LLC.

There will be breakout sessions on:

Foundations in Graze Planning, with Anneliese Walker
NRCS Conservation Practices & Program Overview, with Jeff Duchene
Emerging Technologies in Grazing: the Potential of Virtual Fence, with Margaret Chamas
McRae Land & Livestock: Building a Systematized Regenerative Farm, with Brett McRae

Join Minnesota Women in Conservation (MNWiC) for a Welcoming Wednesday Webinar! These live interactive Zooms are intended to provide relevant and actionable information about land and water stewardship, while also connecting like-minded women over lunch hour conversations. They recur on the fourth week of each month. The theme for our early spring series is Sowing Seeds of Conservation and Community. The March 26th session will focus on pollinators. We’ll be featuring conservation professionals and an experienced farmer/landowner practitioner each webinar, covering some broad tenants of conservation work.

Feel free to join the Zoom with lunch, pets, or children — this is a casual virtual gathering — and expect to find friendly faces and news you can use!
