The Minnesota Beginning Farmer Incentive Tax Credit was championed by the Land Stewardship Project for over 10 years, and in 2017 was finally passed by the Minnesota Legislature and signed into law by Governor Mark Dayton. This law provides an incentive to sell or rent land or other agricultural assets (tractor, combine, seeder etc.) to a beginning farmer. The state tax credit will become available for the first time in January 2018. More information on the tax credit is available here.
LSP is holding two workshops on the tax credit. One will be held Nov. 28 in Winona, Minn., and the other Jan. 11 in Northfield, Minn. Register for the Nov. 28 workshop below. For more information on the Jan. 11 workshop, click here.
