Check out Boss Ridge Ranch’s rotational grazing operation during this Land Stewardship Project pasture walk. Mark Erickson and his family raise grass-fed beef in west-central Minnesota with a focus on good pasture management, raising high quality forages, soil health, and raising quality, healthy beef. They operate a grass farm on rented land in the middle of corn and soybean country. Come see how they work to implement rest, recovery and residual forage in their pasture management. We will also discuss ideas for rehabilitating poorly producing pastures, as well as rotational grazing infrastructure.
The pasture walk will begin at 2 p.m. For more information, call LSP's Bryan Simon at 320-492-2526 or send him an e-mail.
Managing for Stewardship
Prior to the pasture walk, landowners and managers are invited to join LSP at Boss Ridge Ranch for one hour of special programming focused on non-operating landowners. We will learn about Mark’s unique relationship with his landowner, learn a few of the basics of Mark’s operation, and get a chance to ask Mark some questions about land management before the field day. We encourage you to stay for the entire field day and learn more about grazing and pasture management.
The "Managing for Stewardship" event begins at 1 p.m. For more information, call LSP's Bryan Simon at 320-492-2526 or send him an e-mail.
