It's been a tough year. But if we've learned anything, it's how important connecting with the outdoors is for our overall health. If you are new to the BioBlitz event, find a detailed description of the 2019 event here.

There will be activities for all ages and abilities from early Saturday morning through late Saturday evening, including surveys with naturalists in the prairie and wetland areas, as well as workshops on an array of topics with local naturalists, specialists, and other fun people. New this year will be an advanced survey opportunity for those of you looking for more of a challenge. This will be a longer survey that will be offered once in both the morning and afternoon.

This event would not happen without our collaborating partners at the Minnesota Master Naturalist Program, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota Fish & Wildlife Service, The Nature Conservancy, and the Minnesota Dragonfly Society.

Volunteers are Needed Image

We are looking for naturalists, Master Naturalists, prairie enthusiasts, teachers, or anyone else interested in leading small groups of novices to help them identify species in your realm of interest or specialty. Please contact Peg or Robin by June 20th if you can lead or help with a group. There are additional opportunities to help with hosting, registration and the silent auction.

Silent Auction

We are looking for donations to our Silent Auction — past donations have included outdoor equipment, native plants, books, gift certificates, art, and other homemade goods. Please e-mail if you have questions.

Registration is now open and we need to know if you are coming so that we can plan to have enough surveys and make the necessary arrangements to keep everyone safe. Register Today!

Camping is available at Lac qui Parle State Park and we encourage you to make your reservations through the MN DNR Reservation Portal as soon as possible.
