Finance Committee

The role of the committee is to provide short and long-term financial oversight for LSP, to include budgeting and financial planning, financial reporting and monitoring of internal controls and practices and to report back to the Board of Directors.

The role of the committee is to provide short and long-term financial oversight for LSP, to include budgeting and financial planning, financial reporting and monitoring of internal controls and practices and to report back to the Board of Directors. The Finance Committee will be composed of the Board Treasurer and no fewer than two additional seated directors. The presence of a fully engaged LSP finance committee is imperative for ensuring Land Stewardship Project is committed to good stewardship of its resources and is actively building and preserving those resources necessary to support the accomplishment of its mission.

Additionally, the LSP Finance Committee will ensure financial reporting requirements are compliant with state regulations, including 990 filings, audits, and registration with the Secretary of State and Attorney General.

Board Development Committee

The Board Development Committee is responsible for identifying candidates and making nominations, orientation of new members, ongoing education of the board in regard to effective board process, monitoring effectiveness of Board structure and meetings, and leading transition planning for board and staff.

Land Legacy Committee

The Land Legacy Committee oversees development of the Land & Stewardship Legacies Initiative and the policies and procedures that underlie it.

The Land Legacy Committee oversees development of the Land & Stewardship Legacies Initiative and the policies and procedures that underlie it. The committee screens potential gifts and recommends action on the disposition of land assets of the organization. The committee participates in education and outreach to potential donors.

Program Committee

The Program Committee is directly accountable to the LSP Board of Directors. Its role is to set expectations and overall strategic guidance for the various member teams working alongside our Policy and Program staff teams and to facilitate transparency and accountability between them and the Board.
