During this Land Stewardship Project workshop, Kristen Mizner of Ash Valley Designs will share specific and actionable tips for getting an effective direct marketing business off the ground. Kristin will be joined by farmer panelist, Leslie Svacina of Cylon Rolling Acres. Leslie raises goats on pasture for meat and markets to the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin through wholesale accounts and an ecommerce website.
Kristin Mizner spent more than a decade in marketing across industries including technology, higher education and agriculture. She cut her teeth in 2008 on graphic design, branding and marketing and applying it to her family's seedstock operation, in preparation for their first bull sale. Her marketing career really took off in the four years she spent as marketing director for the Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University. Nearly three years ago, she left her career in marketing and development, moving to North Central Kansas, with her husband where they farm with his family and run both commercial and registered cow/calf herds. Kristin officially launched Ash Valley Designs in April 2020 to serve clients across the seedstock and freezer-beef space, as well as a variety of other ag-related businesses.
