Contact Your Local NRCS Office Today
The Land Stewardship Project wants you to know that sign-up for participation in our nation’s two largest working farmland conservation programs is open now, and the 2019 sign-up deadlines are coming soon.
We encourage you to contact your local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office to begin initial steps for sign-up before the busy spring crop season starts.
The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) offer improved financial support for cover crops, conservation rotations, and other conservation management practices this sign-up round. LSP worked to get these improvements included in the 2018 Farm Bill. These may help improve your bottom line while meeting conservation management goals you may want to build into your farm operation. CSP also offers levels of support for the conservation management you are already committed to doing. Check it out!
Watch for more details on the GREEN LSP POSTCARD arriving in your mailbox soon.

Farmers should note that deadlines can vary from state-to-state—the Wisconsin deadline for EQIP is May 17, for example.
