Clean, healthy water is a necessity for all life. Water is not a commodity to be used or abused for corporate profit, but is a legacy to leave for future generations. Across Minnesota, Land Stewardship Project members are working to protect water from abuse by corporate interests: extractive industrial agriculture, factory farms, the frac sand industry. At the Minnesota Legislature this year, LSP members from across the state have been working to advance legislation to fully fund the Forever Green Initiative, which is doing ground-breaking research at the University of Minnesota to develop and market profitable cover crops that clean our water. We need your voice as an LSP member to advance our vision for healthy rural groundwater, healthy rural communities and resilient land.
The Land Stewardship Project is a sponsor of the 3rd Annual Water Action Day. Please join LSP members and members of 28 allied organizations as we stand up for clean water and healthy communities at the State Capitol on Wednesday, April 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a free event!
Water Action Day includes busing from around the state, complimentary breakfast and lunch, citizen lobbying and issue training, meetings with your legislators, a youth summit, Environmental Town Hall and a #ProtectOurWater rally. Reena Petrich, a youth speaker from Sacred Heart, will be speaking at the rally on behalf of LSP — you won't want to miss it!
