Join Us at the State Capitol Thursday, Dec. 20
Thanks to the hard work of Land Stewardship Project members and supporters, we gathered more than 3,200 signatures this fall on our petition calling for Minnesota’s next Governor to take bold action to address the rural healthcare crisis.
Petition signers are invited to join us on Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Minnesota State Capitol to:
• Deliver the signed petitions to Governor-elect Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor-elect Peggy Flanagan’s Transition Office.
• Meet and share your or your community’s healthcare story with others from around the state. Whether it is unaffordable premiums and deductibles, insurance coverage that fails to meet our needs, our local hospitals and clinics being closed or reducing services, or more, many of us are struggling to get the care we need for ourselves and our families. This is not a problem any of us should have to face on our own.
• Share your ideas and priorities with LSP staff and Healthcare Organizing Committee members for how we can work this legislative session and beyond to achieve a better healthcare system for rural Minnesota, and let us know how you would like to be involved.
The start time of this meeting is to be determined, but will be in the late morning or early afternoon. If you would like to attend, please RSVP as soon as possible to LSP’s Johanna Rupprecht at jrupprecht@landstewardshipproject.org or 507-523-3366 to receive meeting details.
Note: We have made a request to meet with Governor-elect Walz or Lt. Governor-elect Flanagan; their schedules are unpredictable during this busy transition time, and a possible meeting with them may not be confirmed until immediately before the meeting date. This LSP meeting and petition delivery will take place on Dec. 20 whether or not one of them is available to join us.
