ZUMBROTA, Minn. — Grazing a diverse warm-season cover crop mix, transitioning cropland to pasture and planting specialty crops into pasture for added value will be the focus of a pasture walk on Friday, August 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., near Zumbrota (46998 170th Ave.). Zach Knutson, owner of Knutson’s Shorthorns, will be hosting this Land Stewardship Project (LSP) event, which is free and open to the public.
Registration begins at 4:45 p.m. (rain or shine), and a brisket main dish featuring Knutson’s beef will be provided. Participants are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. DIRECTIONS: From Highway 52 heading north, take the MN-58 exit. At the traffic circle, take the 4th exit onto County 10 Blvd.; turn left on 170th Ave. The farm is half-a-mile down the road on the left. Look for LSP signs.
