Heidi Nybroten uses they and she pronouns and is a queer, mixed-Asian person from Washington State. Heidi participated in LSP’s Farm Beginnings program in 2020 and then started as a staff member in December 2021 as the finance, executive management, and operations specialist. They support the infrastructure of the organization by handling day-to-day financial responsibilities as well as assisting the executive director and governing boards.
In their college years, Heidi spent time organizing with farmworkers in northwestern Washington and supported migrant farmworkers in forming one of the first Indigenous-led farmworker unions in the country, Familias Unidas por la Justicia. They are also an abolitionist, studied pre-law, and have spent several years working in public defense. Heidi currently lives in Saint Paul, Minn., with their partner, puppy, and three cats. They like to spend time outside paddling, hiking, and camping, as well as training industrial climbing skills for direct action.
