Compost Check-In Call

Interest in soil microbiology and how to grow organisms using aerobic composting methods is growing among farmers in southeastern Minnesota. To hear more about what farmers are trying out in the region, the Land Stewardship Project will hold a compost check-in call Thursday, Sept. 24, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The call will be a facilitated large group discussion on all things compost and soil microbiology. Topics to be covered include the Johnson-Su composting method, soil organisms and how to spot them, and how best to inoculate crops and fields with the bugs.

The call will be on Zoom video conference, but attendees are welcome to dial in by telephone. The event is free, but registration is required. To reserve a spot, click the link at the bottom of this page and fill out the required information fields. After registering, an e-mail with the video call link and dial-in number will be sent to you. Participants may video-connect from laptops or smartphones, or simply call into the event.

The discussion will be engaging and interactive. Contact LSP’s Shona Snater at with any questions or for help registering.
